Mini review: Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel SPF 50+ PA++++

By Amanda - augusti 10, 2017

The Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ is the first asian sunscreen I picked up a few months ago. After just one application, I saw the light of AB sunscreens, and I couldn't believe I hadn't tried any sooner.

I bought the Gel instead of the more popular Essence because this contained 90ml instead of 50ml and I'm a sucker for good value. You can find this all over ebay and amazon easily, for varying prices. I purchased mine from ebay for £7.75.

The texture is very watery, not a gel at all, but I don't care one bit. It is miles better than any of the
previous western sunscreens I have used, which are all thick or greasy.

Blended out, it looks slightly grainy but it's very smooth.

Blended in, but not absorbed yet.

It absorbs very quickly once rubbed in, due to the alcohol in it. It does not leave a white cast and it is not greasy or shiny. I do need to rub it in for a while so it will actually start sinking into my skin, since you need to apply enough for protection, but it is nothing that makes me dislike the product. It pills along the hairline a bit, but nothing major and that can be easily blended in aswell.

Applying makeup over this works perfectly, I can't tell I'm wearing any sunscreen so it doesn't interfere at all with whatever foundation or tinted moisturizer I use over it.

The only downside and dealbreaker of this product, is that it is not cruelty free. Therefore I will not be repurchasing this, even though it is a very nice product. I'm dedicated to finding an equally as pleasant sunscreen that is also cruelty free, and I hope you are too.
